My Punjab

I have spent 99 percent of my life at my mother land; Punjab. But, It was completely different feeling altogether, when I visited there after spending last 1 percent at Bangalore. Here I am trying give that feeling a shape using words.

It was dawn of July 5th, 2008 when I entered Punjab through Ambala. Although, I was traveling in hell like Punjab Roadways bus but I saw heaven outside. Fresh air and greenery across GT road welcomed me. I wanted to sleep after a full night journey, but could not. It was like my mother is forcing me get up while kissing my forehead. At last my mother won, and I woke up at Rajpura. I felt a new, fresh, peaceful and beautiful Punjab. It started drizzling when I crossed Rajpura. Nature was doing the same job as we clean our home when we expect some special guest to come. While I was weaving these fresh images of punjab in the world of my imagination, my cell phone rang. It was my younger brother. When I placed the headset on my ear there was no hello no hiii, he fired just one question in excitement, "Where are you, brother?" as if he was about to kick his bike to pick me from bus stand, and just waiting for my signal. Every thing went well and I reached in my most comfortable zone in this world; my Home.

I reached Patiala with a list of people I wanted to meet including my old friends and relatives but I preferred to have a nap after a hectic night journey.

What to say, how I felt? I felt Punjab like never before. After living in bangalore kind of city It was spending a peaceful week at a resort. First two days I preferred to be at home. Enjoyed food, watching TV and sleeping. Then I went Mohali to meet some friend cum X-colleagues. We partied that night. For me, after patiala there is nothing like Chandigarh. 2422/71, Mohali is like my second home as my Big B lives there. So, I spent my night over there. It was a great fun to be there again. Watching TV without remote control, chok slamp etc etc.

After that I visited Jalandhar for the same Big B's Birthday party. And what he gave was more than just a party. I first time visited Haweli, Rangala Punjab there. It was a wonderful evening I ever spent. I felt Punjab there. I felt like achieving Mission Punjab.

After a very short night and a lazy morning at Jalandhar, I came back to Patiala to wrap all love and affection I got from the sand of Punjab and to get ready for Bangalore. I will close this blog with a quote, "One can give value to the cool air only after getting sweat".

Physics in the human chemistry

In 1780 Charles Coulomb a French physicist developed Coulomb’s law defining the behavior of electrostatic forces between opposite charges (+ve and –ve). In simple words it says that two opposite charges always attract and like repel each other . Now, this physic's law is so influential that it can be applied directly on human chemistry. Of course, exceptional cases are there ;-) but I am with majority.

I crammed this law in my school and college life to score good marks, but never learnt it by heart. Quiet normal, as most of us do the same. No worries, I scored good marks throughout my academic career. But I paid price for not to learn it by heart after completing my studies. Because when we apply this law on human chemistry the reaction is unpredictable as it can result fusion or fission. Fusion is the standard for successful reaction and fission represents failure. Now irony is that there are no specific conditions under which this reaction can be made successful.

Let us talk about the successful reaction. Atoms which take part in this reaction have no blood relation but they form a bond which itself can be of many types depending on how strong it is. If both atoms share each other’s negatives and positives to neutralize all their differences, then it results a covalent bond with a huge strength which can never be broken by any foreign particle. It needs a lot of energy to break it, which only CREATOR can do. In human chemistry, this bond is known as “true love”.

Sometimes some social and cultural factors keep few reactions in unpredictable state forever.

Now what about Fission? Well, it is the most predictable case in this unpredictable reaction. It is totally based on give and take mechanism. Both atoms come together to satisfy their personal needs and this selfishness creates biasing at both ends, which results a weak ionic bond. Future of this bond is again unpredictable. It may or may not take time, but it has to break. After fission both independent atoms look for some other atoms to continue the same process. These atoms may also encounter a covalent bond as it is unpredictable.

And that is how pendulum of human chemistry keeps hanging between predictable and unpredictable extremes, following the physic's laws. Bonds make and break. Actually, every atom in this universe is looking for a stable state which can be achieved only through covalent bond. So it keeps on making and breaking bonds.

But in this universe of uncertainty there is a parent atom - The "CREATOR", which can provide strongest, everlasting bond that can never break and can provide a stable state to all other atoms in this universe. Because CREATOR is an atom from where this universe starts and ends. Good thing is that, CREATOR already has a bond with each atom in universe, only missing link is the bond from each atom towards The CREATOR.

Well.. If you are verifying my physics and chemistry logics then you are a crammer and if you got my logic then you have learnt these subjects by heart.

Three Mistakes of my life

Hey.. don’t get mislead by the title I have chosen for this blog. I am not going to disclose any of my mistakes here. But it is the title of the latest book written by Chetan Bhagat. Just reading this book has provoked my fingers to write little bit about it. Please don’t take this blog as a “Book Review”.

It is third back to back hit by Chetan. He has discovered a bold-writing skill right from his first book. And in this book he has just intensified his skill. I would like to pronounce him as a “new generation writer”.

What to say about this book (Three Mistakes of my Life)? It is just amazing…!! The most fascinating thing about it is the way Chetan has provided a package of great human feelings to readers. It contains all shades like, humor, emotions, love, passion, innocence, spirituality, anger, violence and the list goes on.

This book is all about three friends (Govind, Ish, Omi) and three professions (Business, Sports, Religion). They possess a real passion for their specific profession and at the same time they give an equal value to their friendship also.

The story of these friends is closely related with the Indian society. They belong to Gujrat, India. They face the fight between communisms and secularism and how politicians mix-up the religion with the politics for their personal interests? They directly get affected by two major tragedies which occurred in Gujrat in the near past. How they fight with these critical situations will pull the readers’ interest in the book.

Besides with this serious aspect of the story, there are lots of things to learn. First, you can learn from the three mistakes which Govind did. Second, you can learn some best general purpose business practices witch Govind practices. And last but not the least; Ish has some good batting and bowling tips for you.

There is one more dimension of the story in this book which any reader can easily notice. That is you will feel like watching a typical bollywood movie. Good start which is full of suspense. Thereafter full story goes in a flash back. Then it creates the curiosity for reader till the end to know about the mistakes which hero did. All kinds of twists come throughout the story. Actions, drama, tragedy, romance, dialogs and every thing you want for a good typical bollywood movie. And you will really admire the way climax of this story has been drafted. I will not be surprised if some bollywood director chooses this story to make a movie as there is a big shortage of good stories in bollywood. And if I was a movie director, I would have done the same instantly after reading it.

Although as per Chetan this is a real story, but still I have a doubt about its reality. Few points in this book which really strengthen my doubt are; 1. The way Govind approaches Chetan(through e-mail), then how Chetan approaches Govind, 2. The Australian and Goa tours of these three friends and 3. The climax of their story. Well, it is my personal observation. Rest, if you will read this book do observe it or if you have read then think about it.

At last I would say that this is an interesting and fantastic book. It is more than worth paying for it. With these words I will sign out here.

My first Blog...!!

Its an ordinary day of my life. Enjoying my week end at my friend's flat in bangalore, watching IPL's 11th match, eating, drinking (except alcohol ;-)).

I was thinking to do something new to make this ordinary day, a special one. Suddenly, I got an idea to write my first blog. So, without wasting any time I started to execute it and
I would like to share few most happening things in my life these days, through this medium.

So, Its been more than one month now, since I shifted to Bangalore from Punjab with a new opportunity, new hopes, new excitement and great energy. I joined a software company here to extend my professional career and looking forward for a successful journey ahead.

"oo.. kolkata knight riders have lost to chennai super kings."

Life at Bangalore is a bit fast. The wonderful thing about this city is its climate. I agree and I am enjoying it. But everybody complaints about traffic. Well, I agree again as I am facing it daily. Even I am going to make contribution to this traffic in the up coming days.

Its my first experience to live far far away from my home state, Punjab. When I left Punjab last month I felt that I am quiet strong enough for this separation but exactly on first day at bangalore I came to know that what does this separation mean. Yes, I am getting nostalgic.

I believe that its quiet natural so at this point, I am trying to think practically. In life there is always a trade-off between gaining and loosing. If I have set my priority to gain something, its obvious that I will lose something which is at lower priority.

"Hey Arshad, well done..!! you are getting philosophic..!!"

There are still many more things which can be documented but I am getting short of words. So, I will pack-up here.
