My friends say that I am very "Creative". This is very flattering. But, since last few days I was trying to explore the actual meaning of this flattering word. Some times, being creative sounds very simple and very difficult at the same time. Yes, its a paradox but a very good paradox.
Sounds confusing, right? I was also confused. This confusion lead to a fight of thoughts between my Mind and Heart. In order to reach on a so called "creative" conclusion by putting the scattered thoughts in an order, my mind decided to ask some questions to my heart. Here is the recorded conversation.
Mind : What is "Creativity"?
Heart : It is a feeling.
Mind : Oh really..!! From where does this feeling come?
Heart : It comes when you think liberally. You start thinking liberally, I will make you feel creative.
Mind : Ok, but how can I think liberally?
Heart : Have some "courage", you will start thinking that way.
Mind : Sounds interesting..!! But from where the courage will come?
Heart : It comes with Ethics which are fundamental source of thought process in human. If you are thinking/doing anything "ethically right", you will feel courageous. Otherwise, while thinking/doing "ethically wrong" things, a feeling of "guilt" comes which discourages.
Mind : Wow..!! I am convinced, I will start doing it immediately.
Heart : :-)
This conversation sculpted a meaningful shape out of my clay of confusion. My mind has made a road map towards creativity and it looks like
[ Ethics -> Courage -> Liberal thinking -> Creativity ].
Now I feel sorted. If my thought process will follow this path, I will always do creative things. No matter in which phase of life I am. Well, I will not say anybody to follow this path only, rather I will recommend to create your own creative path towards creativity.
Although there is lot of jargon which can be said/written to define creativity but in short, anybody in this world can be creative. No matter, in which field he/she is. If we can do some thing different which is not based on tried and tested formula or at least if you we think liberally, we can proudly say that we are "Creative". We don't need somebody to recognize or certify us for being creative.
Now, who does the creative work? There are lot of signs in each human from where we can sense the creativity. For example: a potter can design unique shapes from same baked clay, a gardener can make a garden look unique, a painter can bring unique colorful imagination on paper, an architect can design unique Eco friendly buildings, software engineer can develop unique and revolutionary software, film makers can make unique though-provoking movies, nuclear scientist can come up with some creative solutions powered by nuclear energy for welfare of mankind and the list goes on and on.
I don't know about animals but yes, every human is born to do creative things. Basically, we inherit creativity from the GOD as we all are unique and creative creature of GOD.
So, we don't need to find creativity here and there as it resides right inside us. We just need to change our point of view. I will wrap up my blog by a quote.
